The City of Elk Grove is currently accepting applications for Senior Civil Engineer $119,516 - $160,177 annually + excellent benefits The Community Development Department's Development Engineering Division is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer. This individual is responsible for reviewing private applications for development at all stages of the process from planning/entitlements, through improvement plan review/permitting, and construction. Familiarity with the Subdivision Map Act including the processing of Tentative Maps, Final Maps, Parcel Maps, and improvement plans is a must for this position. The ideal candidate will have broad experience with development processing, including residential subdivisions, multifamily development, and various commercial/office/industrial projects. In addition to general civil site design, the Senior Engineer will understand principles of traffic and drainage engineering, supporting these reviews by others either at the City or through on-call support services. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of engineering and development principles, a strong customer centered approach, and the ability to work through competing interests and be an innovative problem solver. Working collaboratively with applicants, various city department/division staff, outside agencies, and service providers to resolve issues is an essential skillset for this position. The ideal candidate will have excellent time and project management skills, ensuring the timely review of development applications and being highly responsive to project inquiries. Prior experience in private development either as a project engineer or with a local agency is required.
